WAYCROSS — Mr. Henry “Buddy” McLaughlin, 80, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at his residence in Waycross following an extended
McLaughlin illness.
He was born in Waycross to the late Luther Thomas McLaughlin and Dorothy Mae Reynolds McLaughlin. McLaughlin was employed as a blacksmith at CSX Transportation for a number of years. He also was a district manager with American General Life Insurance Company where he was licensed in the State of Georgia as an underwriter. McLaughlin was a member of Remnant Church.
In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by three sisters, Sylvia Elizabeth Martin, Dorothy Jean Dixon, and Peggy Joyce McLaughlin; and a brother, Robert Lee McLaughlin.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lisa McLaughlin of Waycross; five children, Henry McLaughlin, Jr. (Jessica) of Waycross, James McLaughlin (Zoe) of Augusta, Lori Lajoie of Waycross, Timothy McLaughlin (Brandie) of Waycross, and Christopher Joseph McLaughlin (Nikki) of Waycross; 12 grandchildren, Tyler, Miranda, Melissa, Maryann, Delanie, Dylan, Amber, Kyle, Cambria, Silas, Abbiegail, and Emily; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, Luther Thomas “Tommy” McLaughlin, Jr. (Sheila) of Southside, Ala., and James “Jimmy” McLaughlin of Bainbridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, September 18) at Remnant Church. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
