A group of Christian women gathered last month for a special praise session of Waycross Aglow Lighthouse at Our Beloved Church in Waycross.
Director Rosalind Eskew told the attendees, “You’re being celebrated today. The joy of our Lord is our strength.’’
During a morning interspersed with prayers and praise, the women were further encouraged by Eskew, who said, ‘’I cannot be discouraged, He will answer. When we value what Jesus Christ has done for us, rather than what people have done to us we will prosper in our soul.
“The power of others’ testimonies encourages our hearts, giving us peace, comfort and assurance of God’s love and faithfulness.’’
Continuing encouraging messages, Irene Arnold told her friends, “Psalms 62 is so important to me. I stand silently to listen to the one I love — cherishing his wraparound presence. He always protects me so why do I let worry bother me? God alone is my safe place; His wraparound glory.
“Jesus Christ is my saviour, my hero and my strength. Pour out all your troubles and He will help you. All the love you need is found in Him.”
Adding to the inspirational gathering, talented musician/guitarist Melanie Hauner accompanied everyone as they sang songs of praise and worship. Emily Aguirre accompanied the music with a tambourine.
Prayers were offered by those attending. The praise was followed by a banquet barbecue lunch.
Aglow Lighthouse meets at 10 a.m. the second Saturday of each month.
