Harry A. Booth

WAYCROSS — Mr. Harry A. Booth, 93, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Hospice House Satilla following a short illness.

Booth was born in Clinch County to the late Adam A.

Booth and Lucille Sweat Booth Cox. He retired from CSX Transportation as a mechanical supervisor following 29.5

years of employment.

Booth was a former member of Memorial Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the deacons, ushers, and on the board of trustees. He was currently a member of Deenwood Baptist Church, but had attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Blackshear. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Booth was an avid University of Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan. He also loved to fish. It was often said that if he wasn’t fishing, he was thinking about it. Lastly, he wanted to remind all his friends to please vote for Donald Trump.

In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Jimmie Nell Booth. Booth is survived by his wife, Jackie Booth of Waycross; his daughter, Pam Spell (husband Ron) of Blackshear; stepdaughter, Renee Stuckey (Jim Smith) of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Preston Stuckey and Brandon Stuckey both of Jacksonville.

A funeral service was held Monday, September 9 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.
