A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged in the murder of a 16-yearold, according to Brantley County Sheriff Len Davis.
Cody Oglesby, a junior at Brantley County High School, died Thursday afternoon from his wounds.
Trenton Bennett, 17, was arrested and charged in Oglesby’s death.
“We (Brantley County Sheriff’s Office) responded to a shooting (3:36 p.m.) on Dee Gee Trail,” said Davis. “We found the deceased.
“A person was taken into custody a short time later.”
Davis said Tuesday morning (September 3) the case is still under investigation.
He is not releasing any other details.
The shooting took place August 29 in western Brantley County near Waycross off Central Avenue.
