WAYCROSS — Kimberly Strickland Rodgers, 55, of Waycross passed away Monday morning, August 26, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., after an extended illness.
Mrs. Rodgers was born in Homerville to Robert Strickland and Brenda Starling Nute. Mrs. Rodgers was a 1987 graduate of Clinch County High School. She attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton and graduated with her Bachelors and Master’s Degrees from Valdosta State University.
She worked for Unison Behavioral Health for many years as a Residential Service Coordinator, retired from Coastal Pines Technical College as an Accounting teacher, and worked for Southern Georgia Regional Commission as the Communications Outreach Specialist. Mrs. Rodgers attended The Foundation Church in Nahunta.
Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Samuel and Bessie Strickland, and maternal grandparents, Edward and Jean Starling.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Kevin Rodgers of Waycross; two children, Allison Renae Bruchie (husband David) of Nahunta and Dylan Rodgers (wife Jessica) of Valdosta; one grandson, Evan Rodgers; her mother, Brenda Starling Nute of Waynesville; her father and stepmother, Robert and June Strickland of Blackshear; two brothers, Bubba Strickland (fiancé Angela Arnold) of Homerville, and Laney Strickland of Waynesville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Saturday, August 31 at Shiloh Church in Homerville with Pastor Ashton Ham officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Cemetery.
