Bears crush Berrien 52-0, travel to Fellowship Christian

The Pierce County Bear football shut-out the Berrien Rebels 52-0 last Friday night in Bearville in the second round of the state play-offs. The Bears improve to 11-1 overall and will advance to the Elite Eight. The Bears will play Fellowship Christian in Roswell this Friday, November 25. The game is set to start at 7:30 p.m.

The match-up with the Fellowship Christian Paladins will be the first contest between the two schools. Fellowship Christian is currently 9-3 overall and finished 5-0 in Region 8-AA. The Paladins lost to Mount Pisgah Christian 21-18  August 19, beat Trinity Christian 23-19 August 26, lost against St. Francis 35-28 September 9, defeated Lovett 21-10 September 23, lost to Rabun County 21-16 September 29, defeated East Jackson 30-14 October 7, beat Athens Academy 28-6 October 15, defeated Providence Christian 42-10 October 21, beat Banks County 42-7 October 28, defeated Union County 35-14  November 3, defeated North Murray 49-28 in the first round of the state playoffs  November 11 and beat Eagles Landing Christian 26-15 in the second round of the state playoffs November 18.

Scoring Recap

Bear JaQuez White returned the opening kickoff 60-yards to open the scoring. Jonah Allen added the extra point to make the score 7-0 with 11:47 remaining in the first quarter.

DJ Bell connected on a 99-yard pass to White to open a 14-0 lead, following the kick by Allen, at the 2:26 mark in the first quarter.

Bell scored on a 48-yard run with 1:11 left in the first quarter. Allen’s point after touchdown made the score 21-0.

Bell scored on a 92-yard run at the 9:00 mark in the second quarter and Allen added the PAT to make the score 28-0.

Bell added an 84-yard run with 5:50 remaining until half-time increasing the lead to 35-0 after Allen converted the PAT.

The next score came on a 23-yard run by Bell at the 3:54 mark in the second quarter to make the score 42-0, with Allen’s PAT.

Jimarion Guyton was the next to score on a 60-yard run   and Allen’s PAT gave the Bears a 49-0 lead at halftime.

The final score of the game came on a 25-yard field goal by Kade Meeks with 3:15 left in the third quarter.
