DOUGLAS — Ware County defensive back EJ Mathusla (6) strips Coffee quarterback Jordan Phillips of the ball during third quarter action Friday night at Jardine Stadium and made the recovery outfighting teammate Javonte’ Evans (15) for the ball. The Gators turned the miscue into a 16-14 lead with a 24-yard field goal by William Bates on the first snap of the final period.
