CARROLLTON, Ga. — Investigator Taylor Jaimeson Bristow, age 30, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away as a hero in the line of duty on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Bristow was born July 2, 1994 in Fayetteville, N.C., the son of Robert Bristow and Shelly Murray Bristow.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Murray, Sr.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Melissa Harkins Bristow; children, Noah and Bella Brock; brothers, Hayden Bristow of Waycross and Noah Bristow of Alma; sister, Raelyne Bristow of Waycross; maternal grandparents, Janice and George Gregory of Waycross and paternal grandmother, Rebecca Calvo of Waycross.

Bristow was a deputy and investigator for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for six years. He was all about the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves when he wasn't serving his community.

His passion was working with children and animal abuse cases. He loved watching Noah play baseball while trying to coach behind the fence. Bella was his absolute princess. They had a special bond that was evident to everyone. Bo Duke and Daisy Duke, his dogs, were his sidekicks through it all and true companions to him. He made a point to talk to his brother and best friend, Hayden, daily.

Services will be held Thursday, August 29 at 2 p.m., at Mount Holly Church with Clay Patterson, Kim Hope, Sheriff Terry Langley and Chaplin Keith Jiles officiating. Hayden Bristow, Noah Bristow, Eli Patterson, Josh Murray, Clay Patterson and Jeremy Barber will serve as pallbearers. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and members of law enforcement will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, August 28) at Mount Holly Church.

In Waycross, a visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, August 30 at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
