WAYCROSS — Mrs. Edith Luvell Bennett, 85, died Saturday evening, August 24, 2024, at Hospice House Satilla after an extended illness.

Mrs. Bennett was born September 11, 1938 in Atkinson County to the late Joseph Seaborn Wright and Alma Burney. She was a devoted and loving homemaker and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson. A pillar of the Millwood community, she will be lovingly remembered for loving her family unconditionally, cooking for everyone and her dear sweet spirit.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was also preceded in death by her husband, Leland Arlanda Bennett; and her siblings, Vonice Wilson, Robert Combs, Sue Gray and Juanita Pittman.

Survivors include her children, Danny Bennett, Sr. (late Bonnie), Rose Cobb (Jimmy), Leila Thrift (Jackie), Lisa Bennett (Tamra) and Barbara Smith (Denny) all of Millwood; grandchildren, Brianna Bennett, Lucinda Bennett, Danny Bennett, Jr. (Tammy), Ben Bennett, Dawn Coffee (Craig), Stephen Dixon (Breanna), Rebecca Luke (Craig), Leigh Ann Greene (Earl), Scott Clark, Dana Bowen (Chad), Leanna Lewis (Garrett), Lashay Acorn (Stephen), Shelly Chapman (Greg), Blaine Bennett, Kimberly Bennett, Wendy White (John), Scott Smith (Amy), Katie Norton (Sam) and Skylea Yawn (Skylar); siblings, Roy Combs (Hazel), Judy Nettles (Dewayne) and Alva Mason; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, August 28, at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Hargraves Chapel Cemetery in Millwood.
