Jackie Gamble O’Quinn

WAYCROSS — Jackie Gamble O’Quinn, 90, of Waycross died Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2024, at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. O’Quinn was born in Surrency, Ga., to the late I.T. Gamble and Molly Fowler Gamble, and made Baxley her home for most of her life. She was an exceptional homemaker who made sure everyone had three meals a day and the house was kept up. She enjoyed the old gospel sings and found joy in her O’Quinn

tasty little debbie treats.

Mrs. O’Quinn loved her grandchildren and time spent with them, especially teaching them how to play cards.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. O’Quinn also was preceded in death by her husband, James Hartwell O’Quinn; a son, Dwain O’Quinn; five siblings, Billy Joe Gamble, Waunell Lightsey, Robert Gamble, Don Gamble and Annie Ruth Ewers.

Mrs. O’Quinn is survived by five children, Lindell O’Quinn and his wife, Sharon, of Plano, Texas, Ray O’Quinn and his wife, Phyllis, of Collinsville, Ala., Wanda Gibson of Waycross, Ronnie O’Quinn of Waycross, Marcia Turner and her husband, Wes, of Folkston; 11 grandchildren, Julie Medina and her husband, George, Sheri Shaw and her husband, Clay, Jimmy O’Quinn, Falisha O’Quinn, Amberlea Barber and her husband, Colby, Paige Thrower, Chase O’Quinn, Ryan Turner and his wife, Brittany, Dylan Turner, Spring O’Quinn and Josh O’Quinn; numerous great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held today (Wednesday, August 28) at 10 a.m., in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Bristol, Ga.
