The last day before Thanksgiving break at PCHS featured the first-ever “Adulting Day” instruction. While seniors took a field trip to municipal offices in Blackshear, underclassmen participated in classes that included car care, clothing care, resume’ writing, financial readiness and more. Thank you to all who worked diligently to make this endeavor successful, and special thanks to those community stakeholders who assisted in the day’s instruction.

The PCHS Choral Department is proud to announce that Kelly Brewster and Justin Herrin passed the first audition for the Georgia All-State Chorus event that will take place in Athens in February! Congratulations to you guys and to Mrs. Kellie Justice, PCHS choral instructor.

There’s another champion in the house! Congratulations to Pierce County High FFA for winning the region floriculture title. Those team members include Cianna Kicklighter, Reagan Cauthen, Maddie White, and Landon Rainey. The floriculture team will compete for the state title in Perry this coming February. It has already been a very busy year for PCHS FFA. Great work to all, with special pats on the back to Mr. John Ratliff and Mr. Seth Prescott.

Please support FFA and the annual pork chop fundraiser, set for December 13. Plates are $15 and include green beans and mac ‘n cheese. Pick-up will be after 12:30 p.m. that day. FFA will also be selling poinsettias for Christmas beginning the week of December 5. This is a great way to decorate for Christmas and support FFA at the same time. FFA members, meanwhile, will celebrate their annual Christmas Party December 16 on Jekyll Island.

Seniors, don’t let this month end without taking advantage of “No Application Fee November” at South Georgia State College. This is for those seniors who plan to enroll after graduation. See Mr. Tommy or Mrs. Angie for more.
