A Griffin, Ga., man died as the result of being struck and run over by a pickup truck Thursday night in the 400 block of Memorial Drive.
Waycross Police Major Danny Hampton said in a news release Monday, August 19, Sterling Jesse Rawdin, 25, of Griffin died in the August 15, 10:30 p.m., incident near LL Creek Bar and Grill. Rawdin was found laying in a parking lot seriously injured when law enforcement personnel arrived.
Rawdin was transported by Ware County EMS to Memorial Satilla Health where he later succumbed to the injuries suffered in the accident.
WPD alerted area law enforcement to “be on the lookout” for a Ford F350 dual cab pickup believed involved in the accident.
Friday morning, 26-year-old Cejay Louis Heath of Soperton was arrested and charged with Homicide by Vehicle. He also faces other traffic charges.
Heath is currently incarcerated in the Ware County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
