The new Fairfield Inn by Marriott celebrated it official ribbon cutting Wednesday, August 14 with balloons, door prizes, and delicious catering provided by KD’s Cafe.

The property is the first new hotel built in Waycross in 15 years. It is the sixth property developed by Preyen and Milan Patel.

The Patels have been in hospitality in Waycross for 10 years, having previously owned the Hampton Inn.

“We are happy to deliver the latest product,” said Milan. “We’re excited to be in the community again.”

Among the many guests were Commissioners Katrena Felder and Sheinita Bennett.

“We welcome you to the great city of Waycross,” said Felder. “We appreciate the business you want to bring here and how this business has greatly impacted our community.”

“We know what this town’s capable of,” said Milan. “We knew this town needed another property and we were happy it could be us. Hopefully, Waycross keeps growing and we can bring in another one.”
