Braddy
WAYCROSS — Mrs. Judy Palmer Braddy, 83, of Waycross died Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2024, at the Bluffs of Satilla after an extended illness.
Mrs. Braddy was born in Waycross to the late Walter Alfred Palmer and Olga Mortons o n Palmer. She spent most of her life in Waycross. When her husband, James Tillman Braddy, Jr., was serving his country, she spent time in Europe and other states within the United States.
Mrs. Braddy taught English at McCarther High School in Lawton, Okla., and worked as a secretary for Superior Court Judge Clarence Blount in Waycross. She enjoyed traveling and going to the beach with her family.
Mrs. Braddy will forever be remembered for her vibrant personality and her kind and caring spirit that made her a mother to all.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Braddy was also preceded in death by her husband, James Tillman “Buddy” Braddy, Jr., and her daughter, Terri Braddy.
Mrs. Braddy is survived by her children, Walt Braddy of Folkston, Christy Braddy of Jacksonville, Fla., and Todd Braddy and his wife, Heather, of Waycross; her grandchildren, Tyler Braddy and his wife, Leacy, Morgan Braddy, Christine Stipe and her husband, Steven, Catherine Sapp and her husband, Earl, Tillman Braddy and his wife, Ashley, and Rachel Bennett and her husband, Jordan; numerous great grandchildren; one brother, Al Palmer and his wife, Linda, of Blackshear; one sister, Carol Maloch and her husband, Hardy, of Blackshear; a special niece, Kimberly Williamson and her husband, Phillip, of Blackshear; special great nephews, Brice Williamson and Brayden Williamson; and numerous other relatives.
The family would also like to express its sincere appreciation to the staff of Satilla Bluffs for the kind and compassionate care given to Mrs. Braddy during her time as a resident.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, August 13, in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.
