Patt’son to have more parking

Patterson will be getting some much needed space for parking at Eagle Station.

The city council approved purchasing a .59 acre tract of land on Williams Street at their regular monthly meeting Thursday evening.

The city will pay $10,000 for the property, which is located directly across the street from the Patterson City Gym.

The Pierce County Tax Assessors Office has the land appraised at $5,389.

The seller of the property is the Estate of the late City Councilwoman Joan Teglas-Duplessis. Teglas-Duplessis died in February.

Patterson Mayor Dedi Thomas recommended the city by the property.

“It is a good price and we need the space for parking,” said the mayor.

Estimates are that at least 30 parking spaces can be created with the space. The parking can be utilized for events at both Eagle Station, city hall or the city gym.
