Varnadore
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mrs. Pearl Harris Varnadore, 93, of Jacksonville, formerly of Waycross, Fla., died early Thursday morning, August 1, at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Varadore was born in Waycross to the late Alvie Harris and Margaret Taylor Harris. She had made Waycross and Jacks onville her home for all her life.
Mrs. Varadore worked in Jacksonville for Winn-Dixie in their bag plant as an inspector and for Krispy Kreme on Edgewood, a job she enjoyed more than any other. She was a member of Paxon Revival Center.
More than anything, she loved her family and any moment she was able to spend with them. Mrs. Varadore was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Along with her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Varnadore, Sr.; her children, Lucile Livingston, Daisy Marie Varnadore, Robert Varnadore, Jr., Erwin Varnadore and Donald Varnadore; three grandchildren, Crystal Gayle Barron, Josh Vinson and Ray Varnadore, Jr.; and three brothers, Eldridge Harris, John Allen Harris and Charles W. Harris.
Mrs. Varnadore is survived by five daughters, Sylvia Hersey of Jacksonville, Fla., Margrett James of Hilliard, Fla., Teresa Hamilton and her husband, Jimmy, of Jacksonville, F;la., Cindy Gros of Jesup and Amanda Pitts and her husband, Anthony, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, Ray Varnadore of Jacksonville, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Varnadore of Jacksonville, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 10 at 11 a.m., in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Waresboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home before the service.
