FBC holds Back to School Bash Aug. 7 First Baptist Church, 670 Main Street, in Blackshear holds a Back to School Bash from 5 to 7 p.m., today (Wednesday, August 7).

The event, which will feature games, inflatables, a scavenger hunt and more is open to the public.

Greater St. Paul honors ministries Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Pittman Street, holds a celebration of ministries at 6 p.m., August 10.

All ministries of the church will be represented with various talents such as poetic tributes, songs, inspirational readings, rhythmic expression and voices of the children’s choir.

A tasty repast will follow the service. Darren Jackson is church pastor.

Youmans Chapel sets Homecoming Youmans Chapel Baptist Church, 3497 Dean Still Road, will observe Homecoming with a special service at 11 a.m. Sunday, August 11.

Guest speaker will be Brother Dennis Dean, pastor of Jamestown Baptist Church. Lunch will be served following the service.

There will be no Sunday School or evening service that day.

The church will hold a revival Monday-Friday, August 12-16 with Brother Trent Long, pastor of Sandhill Baptist Church, leading the program. Service is 6 p.m. each day.

Grace Episcopal talks Taylor book Grace Episcopal Church, 401 Pendleton Street, will host a book study of Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others by renowned author and Episcopal priest Barbara Brown Taylor.

Sessions will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning August 28. Those who register at www.gracechurchwaycross. com by Sunday, August 11 will a copy of the book.

Aglow Lighthouse next meets Aug. 10 The Waycross Aglow Lighthouse will meet at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 10 in the social hall of Our Beloved Church, 100 Osceola Avenue.

This will be a special, informal gathering of fellowship, praise and worship, and sharing short testimonials of how God is touching our lives or the tings He is teaching us in our walk with Him.

The power of others’ testimonies encourages our hearts, giving us peace, comfort and assurance of God’s love and faithfulness.
