Harkleroad is Dean of Allied Health

Meaghan Harkleroad

Meaghan Harkleroad has been named Dean of Allied Health at Coastal Pines Technical College.

Harkleroad has been employed with Coastal Pines (CPTC) since May 2020 as a Practical Nursing instructor before recently being promoted to Dean of Allied Health in July.

She graduated from Okefenokee Technical College’s (now Coastal Pines) Practical Nursing program before continuing her education to earn her Associate of Science Nursing degree from South Georgia State College, her Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from South University, and just recently her Master of Science Nursing degree from South University.

Harkleroad brings a wealth of nursing knowledge in areas ranging from Med Surg, ER, ICU, OR, and Labor and Delivery from her time working at Bacon County Hospital and Health Systems, as well as several years of teaching experience.

She lives in Alma with her husband, Kevin, and four children.

“My favorite thing about educating the future nurses is watching them have their ‘ah ha’ moments when they finally put the pieces together and it makes sense for them,” said Harkleroad. “I love technical education and the opportunities that it gives our students. There are so many doors for them to open that they have no idea are even possible.

“I never would have dreamed going to LPN school in my small hometown would have placed me on the path for the career that I have today. I am honored and humbled to be able to live my dream. I promise you will never regret the experiences CPTC can afford you.”

Coastal Pines Technical College offers associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit, as well as continuing education opportunities, economic development services, and adult education courses.

The CPTC service delivery area covers 7,431 square miles in the southeastern region of Georgia.
