FOLKSTON — Clarice Crews Mullins, 98 of Folkston, passed away at her home on Monday, November 11, 2024.
Mrs. Mullins grew up in Mattox. She was the daughter of Arch and Dossie Crews. Mrs. Mullins graduated from Charlton County High School in 1945.
She married Arnold Mullins September 3, 1947. They made their home in Merrillville, Indiana for 40 years, before coming back to her hometown of Folkston when they retired.
They owned Mullins Building Supply Company in Indiana and opened a branch in Folkston called Charlton Building & Plumbing Supply. Mrs. Mullins kept that running until she was 90 years old, then sold it.
Mrs. Mullins loved working with the public, gardening, cooking, flowers and teaching. She taught Sunday School for 35 years.
Mrs. Mullins was a loving mother and grandmother praying all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren know, love and live for Jesus.
She was a member of Hobart Assembly of God in Hobart, Indiana for 40 years and Christian Worship Center of Homeland for the past 35 years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mullins is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnold Mullins; and six siblings, Hilton Crews, Louise Crews Stewart, Evelyn Crews Hilton, Edward Crews, Waudell Crews and Frieda Nettles.
The Mullins had three children, the late Larry Mullins, Denise Mullins Hessler and Linda Swartzentruber Mullins; eight grandchildren, Corey Mullins (Melissa), Andrew Mullins, Heidi Hessler Shaddick (Nate), Amber Hessler Rocha (J.R.), Brock Hessler (Allison), Justin Swartzentruber, Rachelle Swartzentruber and Tiffany Swartzentruber; nine great-grandchildren, Vincent Hild-Mullins, Zoey Lee, Isaiah Shaddick, Isabella Shaddick, Amelia Rocha, Ivy Rocha, Aida Rocha, Ryker Hessler and Maverick Hessler; a brother, Lamar Crews; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Walker officiating.
Burial followed at Bachlott Cemetery.
