Brantley Countians came out in droves during the General Election to show their support for Republican President-elect Donald Trump.
Brantley County proved its Trump support reported by CNN was correct, leading the state with 91.1 percent showing. Echols County was just slightly behind with the new president garnering 90.9% of the votes.
Trump received 7,741 votes in Brantley County to easily outdistance Democratic Vice President nominee Kamala Harris, who finished with just 736 votes or 8.66%.
Registered voters cast a record 8,520 ballots for a 73 percent turnout of the 11,677 who could vote with only 3,157 not participating.
The turnout bested the state mark of 68% turnout following a record 5.28 million voters participating in the three-week early voting and the Tuesday, November 5 Election Day.
Compared to the rest of the United States, Georgia had the 17th-highest turnout rate, according to data from Michael McDonald at the University of Florida Election Lab.
