HOBOKEN – Dean Godbolt, 68, of Hoboken died Tuesday afternoon (November 5, 2024) at his residence after a sudden illness.
Godbolt was born in Savannah to the late William R. Godbolt and Margaret Winifred Smith Godbolt and made south Georgia his home most of his life. He was a jack of many trades but spent most of his life as a painter working recently with Taylor’s Painting.
Outside of being a hardworking man, he enjoyed fishing with his grandkids and found peace watching his chickens feed in the yard.
In addition to his parents Godbolt is preceded in death by a brother-inlaw, Johnny Bailey; and step-father, Ben Taylor.
Godbolt is survived by his children, Crystal Taylor and husband, Dustan, of Waycross, James Godbolt and wife, Marsha, of Waycross, Gayle Sipper and husband, Matt, of Elberton, Luciana Brewer of Tifton, Recil Godbolt and ,wife, Heather of Tifton; 16 grandchildren, Jacob, Riley, Ally, Sophie, Loralai, Jacob, Skylee, Hunter, Samantha, Kassie, Joshua, Kerra, Dean, Brittany, Recil and Georgia; four siblings, Elaine Bailey of Waycross, Paula Mixon and husband, Yancy, of Waycross, Bill Godbolt of Waycross, Michael Godbolt and wife, April, of Waycross; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Friday, November 8, 2024 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Shiloh Cemetery in Homerville.
