WAYNESVILLE – Jeffrey Glen Barber, 55 of Waynesville, passed away Wednesday morning, November 6, 2024 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Born in Waycross, Barber’s parents were James Byron “Sonny” Barber and Virginia Mae Hooper Barber. He is also preceded in death by a brother, James W. Crews; and his biological father, Roy Jacobs.

Barber was a farmer and served in the United States Army. He loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Heather Barber of Waynesville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Shayne Barber (Allison) of Springfield, Ga., and Jarrett Barber (Elissa) of El Paso, Texas; a daughter, Dakota James of Illinois; three grandchildren, Estella Barber, Christian James and Briar James; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony Barber (Lisa) of Hortense; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura Doremus (Chris) of Houston, Texas, Cindy Fowler (Joe) and Candy Barber all of Atlanta; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday (November 16, 2024) at 2 p.m., at Phillipian Church, Raybon Road in Hoboken.

A reception for the family will be held immediately following the service.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
