HORTENSE — Barbara “Liz” Elizabeth Baker, 56 of Hortense, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Mrs. Baker was born July 22, 1968 in Fitzgerald to Robert Miles King and Barbara Louise Stubbs King. She had lived most of her life in Pitts, Ga., moved to Brunswick in 2002 and had lived in Mt. Pleasant for the past two years.
She enjoyed photography and crime TV. Mrs. Baker had been employed with the Picture Me Portrait Studio in Walmart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie King and Jimmy King.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Paul E. Baker, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Amanda Newell of Mt. Pleasant and Kristen Johnson (Jessica) of Valrico, Fla.; grandchildren, Makaila Newell, Elaina Newell, Theron Newell and Dakota Johnson; a sister, Melody Dent (Scott) of Pitts, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematorium Inc. was in charge of arrangments.
