Gail Strickland Tumlin

NAHUNTA — Gail Strickland Tumlin, 79 of Nahunta, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at her residence.

Born in Jesup, Mrs. Tumlin’s parents were Avery and Lena Jacobs Strickland. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Myra Raulerson and Jane Strickland.

Mrs. Tumlin worked at Brantley Telephone Company many years, the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office and the Brantley County Registrar Office. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tumlin enjoyed traveling, singing in the choir, working in her yard, watching Heron softball and basketball, and especially family time.

Survivors include her husband, Jackie Tumlin; one son and daughter- in-law, Curtis and Roxie Tumlin of Nahunta; one daughter, Selena Tumlin of Nahunta; two grandchildren, Julia Tumlin (Brandon) and C.J. Tumlin; three great-grandchildren, Cooper Dixon and Canaan and Brooks Green; one brother and sister- in-law, Dr. A.W. and Rose Mary Strickland of Raybon; one sister, Arlene Bass of South Carolina; also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service was held Monday afternoon, October 28, 2024 at Frye Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525 or UF Health Shands, MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit), 476 W. 10th Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
