Thirty-seven years ago yesterday (1987), our daughter, Kristen, was born.
I remember that I was working second shift at Georgia Pacific’s Sterling Sawmill when I received a call that Bonnie was going into labor and for me to meet them at the Brunswick Hospital.
Our first-born child, Casey, had been stillborn the year before and I was very nervous.
I took off from work and could not remember how to get to the hospital!
I headed towards Brunswick from Sterling and kept turning down different roads until I finally saw a sign with a blue H on it and an arrow.
I was able to follow the sign and, luckily, I found the hospital before she was born early the next morning.
Now she has a family with two kids of her own and a hair salon in the middle of downtown Hoboken.
