Brantley County Superintendent Dr. Kim Morgan is among four finalist for the 2025 Superintendent of the Year honor.

The Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) annually recognizes a Georgia school system superintendent as the state’s Superintendent of the Year.

“This is a tremendous honor to be amongst the very best professionals who answer the call to serve in the K-12 Public School Superintendency,” a press release stated. “A most challenging and honorable career.”

Nominations were received from August 2, 2024 to September 2, 2024. Nominations were made by boards of education, colleagues, community members, and business folks from across the state.

There were 20 candidates nominated and four were selected as state finalists to represent the superintendent’s profession in Georgia.

These four finalists will move to the next phase of completing an application to enter the national competition where one of the four will be selected to represent the state of Georgia against the 49 other states and Canada.
