Peggie Nell Leggett

BRUNSWICK — Peggie Nell Leggett, 87 of Brunswick, departed this life Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Leggett was born April 17, 1937 in Atlanta to the late Lowell Curtis and Helen Wetona H. Prather. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Glynn County since 1963.

Mrs. Leggett was a member of Glyndale Baptist Church where she was a member the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, camping and fishing. She was an enthusiastic Georgia Bulldog fan.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leggett was preceded in death by her husband, Leon David Leggett Sr.; two daughters, Melonie E. Chambers and H. Julia Teston.

Survivors include a daughter, Teri L. Wright of Brantley County; two sons, Leon D. Leggett, Jr. and wife, Allison, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Curtis A. Leggett and wife, Kim, of St. Simons Island; a sister, Helen Eddins of Bostwick, Fla.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at at Glyndale Baptist Church with Reverend Ken Creekmore officiating.

Interment followed in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice of the Golden Isles for their compassionate care for Mrs. Leggett during her illness, as well as her longtime friend and caregiver, Ramona Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525 or to the Glyndale Baptist Church Building Fund, 132 Butler Drive, Brunswick, GA 31523.
