HORTENSE – Ronnie Leonard Poole, 70, of Hortense, passed away Tuesday evening, October 15, 2024 at his residence under the care of Heartland Hospice surrounded by his family.
Born in Ludowici, Poole’s parents were Leo Carlton Poole, Jr. and Mond area Barrow Poole. He is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashlyn Poole; and mother-in-law, Geraldine Gest.
Poole is a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed and highly sought after as a motor winder technician. Poole was a jack of all trades and an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Christine Ann Gest Poole of Hortense; a son and daughterin- law, Steven Poole (Melissa) of Christiansburg, Va.; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Tester (Trey) of Christiansburg, Va.; three sisters and a brothers- in-law, Gwen Howard (Wayne) of Hazlehurst, Janice Wilkes of Walthourville and Patty Moss (Dennis) of Hinesville; special furry friend, Bear; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
