CANEY BAY — Brantley County closed out its regular season home schedule with a 164 blistering of visiting Charlton County on Senior Night.
The Lady Herons (16-6), winners in 11 of their last 12 games, still have two Region 1A makeup games to play against Thomasville and Fitzgerald on the road this week.
BCHS split a home twinbill with the Lady Bulldogs Monday, September 30 falling 12-9 and winning 13-1. Game 3 of the series was postponed because of Hurricane Helene.
The Lady Herons have captured the three-game set with Fitzgerald sweeping a doubleheader September 10 with a pair of shutouts, 10-0 and 13-0.
A matchup with Class A DII top-ranked Lanier County on the schedule for Monday, October 7 was cancelled with BCHS needing to play Thomasville. The Lady Herons traveled Tuesday, October 8 to Fitzgerald.

Sydnee Davis slammed two solo homers and the Lady Herons hit a season-high five total among their nine extra base hits in beating up Charlton County in four innings via the “mercy rule.”
The victory completed the season sweep over the Indian Maidens. Brantley County posted an 11-3 victory in the August 10 season opener. The Lady Herons’ 12-run win was their 11th decision of seven-plus runs.
Charlton County (10-10-1), which had won four games in a row, jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Reagan Mclain (3.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 4 K, 4 BB, 1 WP).
The Lady Herons answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good at 5-3. They added six runs in the second building a 11-3 advantage.
The Indian Maidens pushed home a run in the third with Brantley County responding with a five-run third.
Brooklyn Wildes led BCHS at the plate going 3-for-3 with a solo homer, her third of the season, and three runs scored.
Kelsie Bishop (2-for-3, three RBIs) hit her team-leading fifth homer. Riley Story (2-for-2, three runs, two RBI, double) hammered her fourth homer.
Jayden Lewis (2-for-3, two runs, two runs batted in, double, stolen base) connected for her first roundtripper of the season. Davis (2-for-three, stolen base) hit her second and third homers.
Rylee Smith (1-for-2, RBI, double) and Lexi Byrd (1-for-3, RBI, double) collected a hit apiece.
Wildes came on in relief of Mclain to strikeout the lone batter she faced in in the top of the fourth to end the game.

Brantley County spotted the Lady Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the first inning before scoring the final 13 runs ending the game in the bottom of the fourth with the “mercy rule.”
The Lady Herons only collected six hits taking advantage of six walks, two hit batters and seven errors by Thomasville.
The Lady Bulldogs’ run against Mary Hall (4IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 K, 0 BB) was unearned.
Brantley County plated four runs in the bottom half of the inning for a 4-1 lead. The Lady Herons scored once in the second, three in the third and five in the fourth to end the game early.
Lydia Anderson (2-for-4, two RBI, two stolen bases), Bishop (2-for-2, RBI, double) and Byrd (2-for-3, three ribbies, double) recorded BCHS’s hits.

Thomasville chased home three runs in the bottom of the first and never trailed in beating the Lady Herons in the nightcap.
Brantley County closed to within 3-2 in the top of the second with the Lady Bulldogs plating four runs in the bottom of the inning to stretch the lead to 7-2.
A second two-run inning by the Lady Herons in the third closed the deficit to 7-4. Thomasville responded with two in the bottom of the fourth to grab a 9-4 advantage.
Brantley County scored twice in the fifth to get to within 9-6 with the Lady Bulldogs answering with three in the bottom half of the inning in doubling up BCHS 12-6.
The Lady Herons scored a run in the sixth and two in the seventh for the final margin.
McClain (2-for-4, double), Wildes (2-for-4, RBI, double), Bishop (2-for-4, RBI), Davis (2for-3, RBI) and Chelsea Tuner (2-for-4, two RBI, homer) led BCHS at the plate.
Lewis (1-for-4, two RBI, homer) and Anderson (1-for-4, double) added a hit each.
Turner (1.1 IP, 2 H, 7 R, 2 ER, 1 K, 1 BB) and Mclain (5.2 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 4 K, 4 BB, 1 WP) pitched for the Lady Herons.
