Early voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 15

In mid-October, voters across southeast Georgia will get their first opportunities to cast an early, in-person ballot for the 2024 general election.

Voters in Georgia can also vote by mail a October 25 deadline.

There are three weeks of early voting, including two Saturdays schedule in Brantley County.

Early voting will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., beginning Tuesday, October 15 and running through Friday, November 1. The two Saturday dates are October 19 and October 26 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Here are the accepted forms of identification for in-person voting:

Any valid state or federal government-issued photo ID, including a free ID card issued by your county registrar’s office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services.

A Georgia driver’s license, even if expired

Student ID from a Georgia public College or University

Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state

Valid U.S. passport ID

Valid U.S. military photo ID containing a photograph of the voter

Valid tribal photo ID containing a photograph of the voter Brantley County Clerk of Superior Court Debbie Sirmans, Sheriff Len Davis, Tax Commissioner Pat Tompkins, Coroner Wyatt Blount, Surveyor Harry Strickland, County Commission Chairman Skipper Harris, County Commission Post 2 Hal Herndon and County Commission Post 3 Randy Davison are all incumbents running unopposed.

State Senate District 3 Mike Hodges and State House of Representatives District 174 John Corbett are also unopposed.

Outside of the Presidental election, incumbent State House of Representative District I Buddy Carter faces Democrat Patti Hewitt.

There are two proposed Constitutional Amendment questions and one statewide Referendum question on the ballot.
