Melanie ‘Dawn’ Winn

JESUP — Melanie “Dawn” Winn, 59 of Jesup, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Winn’s parents were James Oscar Carter and Margie Delane Crews Corbin. She was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph “Joe” Winn III, and her stepfather, Butch Corbin.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph “J.R.” Winn, Jr., of Jesup; her son, Jasper Winn; her daughter, Julie Winn; five grandchildren, Landon Winn, Reiner Winn, Tristen Herrin (Annie), Bella Williams and Jasmine Williams; great grandchild, Melanie Josephine Herrin; her brother and sister-in-law, James O. Carter, Jr. (Stephanie) of Nahunta; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Ann Carter (Bobby Strickland) of Hortense, Terri Lynn Carter (Austin Green),of Brunswick, Evelyn L. Wood (Jesse Horton) of Nahunta and Carmen Marble (Ronald) of Hortense; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are with Frye funeral Home, Nahunta.
