Wayne Richard Williams

YULEE, Fla. — Mr. Wayne Richard Williams, 74 of Yulee, Fla., passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at Community Hospice Jane and Bill Warner Center in Fernandina Beach, Fla., following an extended illness.

Born and raised in Fernandina Beach, Fla., Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Williams and Lily Mae Conwell Williams; his

wife, Janice Douberly Williams; four brothers, Olvan Williams, Larry Williams, James Williams and David Williams; and five sisters, Lou Douberly, Betty Jones, Mattie Mc-Cormick, Gracie Lane and Brenda Sue Barnes.

Williams enjoyed watching the 700 Club on CBN, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and anything outdoors. He loved spending time with his family. Williams worked 25-plus years with the Nassau County School Board and loved interacting with the children.

Survivors include his two daughters, Alisha Rose Moore of Fernandina Beach, Fla. and Stephanie Marie Babb of St. Mary’s, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Jordan “Papa’s Lil Man” Williams, C.J. “Papa’s Lil Sport”, Hannah “Papa’s Sweet Rose” Moore, Kori Babb, Nathanial Babb, Levi Johnson and Wayne Johnson; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Allen officiating.

Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Buckley Conwell, Jordan Williams, Ricky Raleigh, Jason Lombard, Daren Lombard and Adam Spivey.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
