NAHUNTA — Shirley Queen Knippers, 83 of Nahunta, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Born in Hoboken, her parents were Raymond David Queen and Mable Thompson Queen. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Allen Knippers and Jimmy Knippers; and seven siblings.
Mrs. Knippers was a faithful member of Nahunta Church of God for 40-plus years. She loved the Lord and studying and reading the Bible and doing Bible Studies every day. Mrs. Knippers also loved taking care of her dogs, Candy, Jolene and Max.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Major Knippers of Nahunta; her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Cox (Carroll) of Brunswick; brother-inlaw, Joe Knippers of Baton Rouge, La.; three nieces, Robin Jones, Debbie Jones and Terri Ghattas; and two nephews, David Cox and Andy Cox; also several other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Florey and Bro. Carroll Cox officiating.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
