The last two weeks, I have met a couple of interesting people.
Two weeks ago, a lady who lives in Kingsland called me and said she had come through Nahunta about five years ago and stopped at Jerry J’s. While inside she saw one of my pictures of a male Bluebird feeding a baby.
I knew exactly which picture she was talking about. She stopped in again last week and the photo was gone. I told her that it was hanging at the Waycross Hospital, but I could go get it.
We made arrangements to meet back at Jerry J’s in a couple of days. She bought the picture and came over to pick it up. We talked and said she had never forgotten about the picture after five years and was glad that she was able to get it.
This past week, a lady I know introduced me to a gentleman from Grand Junction, Colorado that once lived right here in Brantley County. Once again, we were in Jerry J’s and we talked quite a bit.
He said he had moved out to Colorado several years ago. I told him that I had been near Grand Junction and will be heading back that way again soon on a trip with much of the family.
I showed him some of my books and he bought two. He wanted me to sign them before he took them back to Colorado.
We also exchanged phone numbers. I told him that if we (family) were to get anywhere near Grand Junction on this trip, or if we go out there again in the future, I will give him a call.
I love it when I can have contact with people when we travel to areas we’re not familiar with. A lot of times, people like this can show you or tell you about places that are not as well known by the other tourists.
