Families at the Brantley County Head Start center were recently introduced to Let’s Get Children Reading with BookSmart at a family engagement literacy event. BookSmart helps families get children interested in reading and encourages parents to read to their children. Families had the opportunity to sign up for the BookSmart app while children were engaged in several literacy activities. “We are happy that so many families attended the event,” stated Lindsay Wilson, center coordinator. “This program will help book access through the BookSmart app.” The center is proudly administered by action pact, a local community action agency.
