Morgan’s ‘Great Blue Heron’ tops in state

Local photographer Wayne Morgan’s “Great Blue Heron” picture captured the Georgia Council for the Arts Contest sponsored by the Georgia Department of Economic Development. It’s the third time Morgan has won following selections in 2015 with his “Providence Canyon” entry and 2017 with his “Satilla River” photo. He traveled to Atlanta for pictures with then Governor Nathan Deal and his wife, Sandra, with the pictures exhibited inside the Capitol building for a year. Morgan will head to Atlanta after the first of the year to have his picture taken with Governor Brian Kemp and his wife, Marty. The “Great Blue Heron” will be on display from January 2025 through December 2026.
