PALATKA, Fla. — Tammy Lynn Davis, age 63, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Ms. Davis was born in Naples, Italy, to parents Bennie Lee Davis, Sr. and Rita Faye Beasley Davis. As the daughter of a sailor, the family moved often.
Ms. Davis was proud of her dual citizenship with Italy and the USA. She graduated from Brunswick High then obtained her Police Academy training from Armstrong State University, working for the Glynn County Police Department and later the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Department.
Ms. Davis loved spending time with family and friends and her beloved dog, Tazer. In recent years, she had moved to Ware County to be near her daughter and had recently moved to East Palatka, Florida to be near her sons.
Her parents, Bennie Davis, Sr. and Rita Davis, preceded her in death.
Ms. Davis is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Williams (Matt) of Blackshear; three sons, Dennis Black (Christy) and Allen Black of Palatka, Fla., and Jacob Black of Hortense; a brother, Bennie Lee Davis, Jr. (Donna) of Brunswick; a sister, Jean Davis Fleck (Terry) of Weirsdale, Fla.; five grandchildren, Adrian Harris and Ashton Harris of Blackshear, Graci Williams of Athens, Matti Williams of Blackshear and Emmitt Black of Ocala, Fla.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick.
