BRUNSWICK — Sandra K. Jones Gonzalez, 81 of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
Mrs. Gonzalez was a native of Waycross and attended Ware County High. After school, she attended Beauty School and opened her business, Magic Scissors by Sandy. Socially, Mrs. Gonzalez loved to cook and entertain family and friends, always making sure no one left hungry.
She loved spending time with her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and greatgreat grandmother. Mrs. Gonzalez loved her church family and was a loyal, active member of Marshes of Glynn Baptist Church.
Her parents, Rufus and Pauline C. Jones and four siblings, William “Bill” Jones, Mike Jones, Kenny “Poncho” Jones and Swann Jones, preceded Mrs. Gonzalez in death.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Placido “Sid” Gonzalez of Brunswick; a daughter, Carol Zeigler (Hugh) of Brunswick; two sons, Sidney Gonzalez (Tracey) and Michael Gonzalez, all of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Kenneth, Kevin and Kristi Zeigler, Brian Gonzalez and Brooke Scherr; eight greatgrandchildren, Kody, Kayden, Emerson and Mary Elliott Zeigler, Carter and Charlotte Scherr, Sydney Gonzalez and Macey Oquendo; one great-great-granddaughter, Lucy Mae Oquendo; a brother, Joe Jones (Anitra) of Nahunta and a sister, Dawn Hartig of Central City, Iowa.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, September 10 at Marshes of Glynn Baptist Church with Reverend Darrell Joiner officiating.
Burial followed in Chapel Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Kenneth, Kevin, Kody and Kayden Zeigler, Brian Gonzalez and Chance Scherr.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Hospice of the Golden Isles.
The family suggests donations to the Marshes of Glynn Baptist Church Worship Center Expansion, 3780 US Hwy 82, Brunswick, GA 31523.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick was in charge of arrangements.
