The Brantley County Board of Education approved Local Board Training Plan and a dozen other proposals during Monday night’s meeting.
The Local Board Training Plan consists of training workshops the Board signs up for to tentatively attend throughout the upcoming year.
Other agenda items approved during the August 12 meeting were:
• Possible fundraisers the schools may be participating in the upcoming year.
• Overnight field trips the schools may undertake during the upcoming year.
• Several software programs for renewal: ∞ Imagine Learning Edgenuity for Brantley County High School for a total of $27,192.
∞ Quizizz, also for BCHS for a total of $5,300.
∞ Reflex/Frax - Explore Learning for Hoboken Elementary School in the amount of $4,795.
∞ Follet for the District in the amount of $17,375.77.
• The board approved to purchase a new golf cart from Mike’s Golf Carts in the amount of $17,300. The board will purchase two golf carts for the high school to be used by the administration, security and athletics.
• The board approved the FY25 Unison Memorandum of Understanding for the provision of behavioral health services for the upcoming year.
• The board approved the Student Support and Case Management Software Program from ECINS for District at a cost of $4,380.
This is a HIPPA compliant system compatible with PowerSchool to enhance the case management capabilities of the district mental health employers. It has built-in data programs to help analyze the impact of specific interventions, actions and programs.
• The board approved the Amended Pay Scale for Pre-K paraprofessionals in response to recent Bright From the Start salary requirements.
• A new police vehicle upfit was also approved for Mobile Communications in the amount of $5,366.24. The purpose is to provide the vehicle with emergency lights, radio, siren and partition.
• A firewall renewal recommendation for the upcoming year was approved by the board with Howard Technologies in the amount of $31,578.
• The board approved a produce contract with Flowers Bakeries Sales of Georgia for the School Nutrition Department.
• The Heggerty Phonics Bundle for Hoboken Elementary School and Nahunta Primary School was approved.
The kits help with instructional practices of science and reading skills and early learning instruction/ interventions for students in grades K-2.
The next BOE meeting will be Thursday, September 5 at 7 p.m., for the work session. The regular meeting is schedule for Monday, September 9 at 7 p.m.
