WAYNESVILLE – Judith Louise Thompson Kelly, 65 of Waynesville, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a brief illness.
Born in Brunswick, Mrs. Kelly’s parents were Henry “Felton” Thompson and Ivey Hayes Thompson. She is also preceded in death by a son, Joshua Freeman Kelly; and a brother, Don Regg i e Thompson.
Mrs. Kelly was a teacher at Atkinson Elementary School and a member of Waynesville Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandbabies and her schoolchildren. She loved her church, being involved in the prison ministry and working in her yard.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Kelly of Waynesville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Adrian Miles Thompson (Chrissy) of Hortense, Kenneth Kelly IV (Sara) of Taloga, Okla., and Andrew Jordan Kelly of Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Aidan Thompson, Avery Thompson, Harper Ratliff, Nathaniel Kelly, Allison Hay, Brooklyn Kelly, Cash Kelly and Ethan Kelly; a sister, Elizabeth Handley of Florida; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service was held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Waynesville Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.
Burial followed in Homeward Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cody Kelly, Alan Crews, John Kelly, Phillip Kelly, Troy Newham and Robert Kennedy.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
