Teenager arrested for McDuffie St. shooting

A Blackshear man was seriously injured and a Blackshear teen was arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred Monday, Nov. 11.

Blackshear Police responded to a report of a shooting about 6 p.m. that evening at 500 McDuffie Street.

Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright said the victim was taken by ambulance to Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross and later transferred by ambulance to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

The victim has been identified as Trinity Harris Jr.

Harris is currently listed in serious condition at the hospital, according to the chief.

Following an investigation, Jaylin Antavious Hayes, 19, of Blackshear was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Hayes is currently being held in the Pierce County Jail.

Wright declined additional comment citing the ongoing investigation. He did say that additional arrests may be made in the case.
