Truman McLaughlin Bradley, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Born with a spirit of service and adventure, he dedicated his life to his family, friends and the skies.
A Navy veteran, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He served as a police officer in Daytona Beach before embarking on a remarkable aviation career, flying for Eastern Airlines and American Eagle Airlines, where he became a captain. He later transitioned to flying private aircraft before retiring.
Known for his infectious laugh and kind heart, he had a knack for bringing people together. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing, where he found peace and connection with nature.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, James Lawrence Bradley; his father, Shelton Williams; his mother, Thelma Woolard Bradley Williams and his brothers, Jimmy Bradley and Leland Bradley.
His love for his family was unwavering.
Survivors include his two sons, Joshua Robert Long Bradley (Jessica Brooke Bradley) and Jeremy James Shelton Bradley. He was a devoted grandfather to Gabriel Robert Long Bradley, Shelton Lee Bradley, and Stella Rose Bradley, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He is survived by his brother, Marshal Bradley.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, his family will gather privately at a later date to celebrate his life and cherish the memories they shared with him.
