Pierce Middle grapplers take down Appling, Waycross

WAYCROSS — Pierce County completed its second sweep of a tri-match here Wednesday at Ware County Middle School.

The Bears downed Appling County Middle School 65-40 and knocked off the Gators 63-48.

PCMS will wrestles twice this week. The Bears faced Waycross Middle and host Appling Middle Tuesday, November 19. They travel Thursday, November 21 to Ludowici to face Brantley County Middle School and host Long County Middle School before taking a Thanksgiving break.

Pierce Middle will host Wayne County Middle School and Brantley Middle in the final home match Tuesday, December 3.

Bears.....................65 Appling Middle .....40 PCMS captured 16 of the 22 matches including nine via pin in beating the Rams.

Winning with pinfalls were Gunner Sikes (80 lbs.) Robi Milsom (100), Josie Insalaco (126), Shevy Sapp (132), James Still (138), Uriah Hendrix (145), Simon McEuen (152), Dillan Terry (182) and Ja’shun Faison (195).

Earning victories by decision were Klayton Markle (75), Nathan McFarland (90) and Jayden Altman (120).

Awarded forfeits were Matthew Stone (60), Bently Taylor (160), Houston Davis (240) and Wilson Sweet (285).

Losing by pin were Grayson Carter (70), Remington Altman (85), William Shreves (95), Caitlyn Hinnant (106) and Bristol Dixon (170).

Dropping decisions were Cailyn Kiser (113) and Reb Dixon (220).

Bears.....................63 Ware Middle .........48 The Bears used eight pin wins in their 13 victories to top host Ware Middle.

Notching pins were Klayton Markle (75), Nathan McFarland (90), William Shreves (100), Jayden Altman (120), Uriah Hendrix (145), Simon McEuen (152), Dillan Terry (182) and Wilson Sweet (285).

Getting pinned were Grayson Carter (70), Cailyn Kiser (113), Bristol Dixon (170), Ja’shun Faison (220) and Houston Davis (240).

Falling via decision were Halley Williams (95), Josie Insalaco (126), James Still (138) and Bently Taylor (160).
