PCHS Swim team starts season

The Pierce County High School (PCHS) Swim Team kicked off their season this past Friday (Oct. 28) at the Waycross YMCA.

Tristen Carlo stepped up and helped out his team by completing the Backstroke leg of the Medley Relay.

He also placed second in the 50yd Freestyle (30.20) and second in the 100yd Freestyle (1:13.07).

Conner Shipes placed first in the 200yd Freestyle (2:41.79) and second in the 100yd Breaststroke (1:40.41).

Davis Dyal placed third in the 50yd Freestyle (32.93), Rowan McCrea placed fourth (34.26), and Austin Sprinkle finished fifth.

Rowan placed third in the 100yd Freestyle and Austin placed fourth. Aiden Vergara placed second in the 500yd Freestyle (5:47.26) and first in the 100yd Breaststroke (1:15.98).

For the women, Shianne Mullis took second in the 200yd Freestyle (2:47.48) and third in the 100yd Breaststroke (1:42.85).

Devyn Ball placed fourth in the 200yd Freestyle and sixth in the 100yd Free.

Jasmine Sergent placed third in the 50yd Freestyle (29.95) and Kiara Nottingham placed seventh.

In the 100yd Freestyle, Jacey Ryals placed second (1:16.0), Rory Williams placed fifth, Devyn Ball placed sixth and Kiara Nottingham placed seventh.

Jasmine Sergent placed second in the 100yd Backstroke and Rory Williams placed fifth.

Jacey Ryals also placed third in the 100yd Breaststroke.

The team will be back in action on November 11, when they travel to Thomasville.
