rally is Sunday
A “Justice for Kim” rally will be held Sunday, Nov. 17.
The rally is aimed at keeping attention on the murder of Kimberly Guess. Guess was shot “multiple times” early Thursday morning, Oct. 17, as she walked out to her car in the 800 block of Ware Street.
“We want to continue to keep the focus on the case and get justice for Kim,” said Shirley Turner Lee, Guess’s mother.
The rally will begin at 1 p.m. at the Pierce County Court House. From there, those gathered will walk to Guess’s home on Ware Street.
The investigation into Guess’s murder continues, but no arrest has been made in the case.
“We are continuing to make progress and we are waiting on reports from the crime lab,” said Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright.
Wright declined additional comment when asked about possible suspects or a time frame for the possibility of an arrest in the case.
Guess’s family is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the young woman’s murder.
Guess’s brother, Rickey Thornton, announced last week that his family is offering the reward.
“We hope this will encourage someone to come forward and help us find justice for Kim and find the coward that did this to her,” he said.
Thornton said his family is working with local law enforcement to help find Guess’ killer.
