Marie Yvonne Webster Griffin, 88, of Waycross, passed away Sunday morning, November 3, 2024, at Harborview – Pierce County Nursing Home.

Born March 3, 1936 in Minot, ND, she lived in Jacksonville, FL for several years prior to moving to Ware County in 2018. She was a registered nurse, having worked in various locations throughout her career. She furthered her education and went into teaching where she had the honor of helping numerous students achieve their goal of becoming nurses. In her later years, she was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting teacups and beautiful Christmas Cards. She loved flowers and photographing them. She will be remembered as always being neat and tidy and very ladylike. She always made you feel so special by putting a lot of thought into the gifts/cards she would give you. Even though she wasn’t blessed with children of her own, she was very motherly to her many nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church – Jacksonville.

She was a daughter of the late Jack Leon and Hildegard Albertine Yanke Webster.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Howard Kenneth “Ken” Griffin, Waycross; two sisters, Mavis Webster, Bloomington, MN and Sandy Stevenson, St. Paul, MN; three brothers, Melvin Webster, Bismark, ND, Leon (Lindy) Webster, St. Paul, MN, and Allen (Maureen) Webster, Dickinson, ND; a sister-in-law, Janice (Larry) Evans, Dupont; two brothers-in-law, Clinton Griffin, Waycross and Jerry and Susie Griffin, Offerman; a special niece and caregiver, Brenda Griffin, Waycross and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment followed in the New Home Cemetery.
