Watson to be speaker at Sons of American Revolution meeting

The quarterly meeting of the Altamaha Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will take place at Noon, Saturday, November 16, at Altamaha Steak and Seafood Restaurant, 362 North First Street, Jesup.

Doc Watson will be the guest speaker and he will present a program on Revolutionary War Brigadier General Daniel Morgan.

A genealogy workshop will be held after the meeting. Potential members are invited to attend. Applications will be available and SAR members will assist potential members with genealogy research.

The Altamaha Chapter SAR is based in Jesup and serves the counties along the Altamaha River basin including Pierce County. The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a patriotic and fraternal organization dedicated to maintaining and extending the institutions of American freedom, an appreciation for true patriotism, a respect for our national symbols and the value of American citizenship. The SAR is a men’s organization whose membership is comprised of descendants of Revolutionary War soldiers and those who helped the war effort.
