Who has the B-E-S-T Pecan Pie?
The Pecan Festival of Georgia will take place Saturday, Nov. 9.
The festival, organized by the Exchange Club of Blackshear, is set for 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Blackshear City Park.
Admission is free but a wrist band will be available for sale to give unlimited access to some rides at the event.
The Pecan Fest is a family friendly event and offers something for everyone.
Festival activities include the Georgia State Pecan Pie Contest, classic car show and live entertainment from local performers, arts and crafts vendors and more.
The fun also includes a kids zone with inflatables, bounce houses, a bungee jump and games.
Every penny raised at the Pecan Festival will be invested in charitable organizations throughout the community, including veterans programs, Special Olympics, Food Pantry, Hospice Satilla, Bethesda’s House, 4-H, Southeast Cancer Unit, Camp Ministries and Friends of the Library, to name a few. The Exchange Club also recognize the teachers of the year, and a student of the month and provide scholarships to PCHS seniors in honor of our national philanthropy, which is to educate and prevent child abuse.
The Exchange Club of Blackshear works hard to put on this event for the community and is proud of the festival’s statewide designation as “The Pecan Festival of Georgia,” a distinction earned nine years ago.
