Sam Chesser’s state qualifying time in the 100-yard breaststroke highlighted Pierce County High School’s swim teams’ opening week.
Chesser posted a winning time of 1:07 during the Thursday, October 29 meet at the Waycross YMCA. His time was .67 seconds faster than his winning time Saturday, October 26 in Tifton at a five-team meet.
PCHS travels Saturday, November 9 for a meet in Baxley hosted by Appling County.

TIFTON — Chesser captured the 100-yard breaststroke event and finished second in the 100yard freestyle to lead the Bears’ five-member squad.
Chesser clocked a time of 1:07.67 in winning the breaststroke event and 55.18 seconds in placing second in the 100yard freestyle event.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Davis Dyal, Thomas Lucas, Walker Sergent and Chesser placed third with a time of 1:46.94.

WAYCROSS — PCHS captured five individual events led by Chesser, who claimed two victories.
Chesser captured the 200yard freestyle event posting a time of 2:07.73 to go along with his win the 100.
Sergent claimed the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 1:06.36. He placed third behind Chesser in the 200 free with a time of 2:25.79.
Teagan Dixon placed in the 100-yard backstroke posting a time of 1:07.75. He claimed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.83.
Jacey Ryals captured the 200yard freestyle event with a personal- best time of 2:20.75.
Donald Moser and Dyal logged second-place finishes. Moser posted a time of 29.46 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle with Dyal recording a time of 1:11.94 in the 100-yard freestyle.
