The Rev. Mitch Hall has resigned his seat on the Pierce County Board of Education.
Hall made the announcement Monday. The resi gnation came after Hall and his family bought a new home in Blackshear outside of the district he represents.
“I have enjoyed my time on the board and I am thankful for the honor of serving my fellow citizens,” Hall said. “I am resigning due to the sale of our home and my relocation from the district.”
Hall represents district two on the board of education. His new home is in district four.
Hall was first elected to the post running unopposed in 2018 and he ran for re-election unopposed in 2022. He is currently mid-way through his second term on the board.
Under Georgia Law, the Pierce County Board of Education will appoint someone to fill the remainder of Hall’s term.
The seat will be up for election in the non-partisan primary in the spring of 2026.
